Hey there, I’m Deema.
I'm a storyteller working across mediums—poetry, photography, and folk craft—to explore the ties between land, memory, and belonging. Guided by curiosity and deep listening of a place, I move through the world gathering stories that sit at the intersection of the ancestral and the everyday.
Shaped by my Saudi Arabian-Greek heritage and my years in Lebanon and London, my diasporic experience informs much of my work, drawing me toward cultural and land-based practices that honour both personal and collective memory. Studying International Relations offered me a critical lens through which to understand systems of power, displacement, and identity. It deepened my awareness of how narratives are shaped, erased, and inherited—insights that now inform how I approach land-based practices, cultural memory, and healing. What began as political inquiry has since evolved into a more intuitive, embodied, and artistic exploration.
As the founder of AlkamiCare, I bring this ethos into herbalism, rural retreats, and storytelling spaces. Whether tending a garden, crafting a tea blend, documenting agricultural traditions, or holding space for dialogue, my intention is to nurture connection—to land, to lineage, and to the quiet stories we carry within.
