The Olive Harvest - An Ongoing Journey of Land, Heritage, and Memory

The "Olive Harvest" project is a celebration of land, heritage, and community. Each year, I partake in the seasonal olive harvest of my ancestral lands in Sparta, Greece, capturing its essence through photography and immersive retreat experiences.

Land Work and Documentation — Every autumn, I join local farmers in the ancient tradition of harvesting olives, a practice that connects us to the land and our shared heritage. Through my lens, I document the labour and stories of the harvest, preserving these moments of connection and tradition.

Annual Olive Harvest Retreat — In addition to my photographic work, I host an annual Olive Harvest Retreat (Wild Roots Embodied) with a sister project, Go Live Spartan Experiences. This retreat invites participants to experience the harvest firsthand, engage in hands-on activities, learn about the cultural significance of olive farming, while also experiencing a journey of personal growth all rooted in the lessons of the olive tree. It’s an opportunity to immerse oneself in the rhythms of nature and gain a deeper appreciation for the land agriculture.

Through this project, I bring together elements of land work, storytelling, and immersive experiences, offering a holistic approach to understanding and preserving our cultural and natural heritage.
