Traditional Wheat Harvest: Annual Family Gathering

Every year, my extended family hosts a traditional wheat harvest experience in the mountains of Sparta, Greece. This annual event involves the ancient practice of threshing grain with horses, a time-honoured method that dates back to antiquity in Greece. The rhythmic dance between horse and grain not only showcases a farming technique but also preserves a vital piece of our cultural heritage.

Through my photography, I capture the essence of this remarkable experience, highlighting the hard work, community spirit, and profound connection to the land. The wheat harvest is more than an agricultural activity; it is a celebration of our heritage, a way to honour our ancestors, and an opportunity to share the richness of our culture with others.
